Mr. X answers your Marketing questions...
I've gotten a few questions over the past few days, so I thought I'd take some time to answer a few of them. Remember, I take marketing questions only, so any customer service issues should directed to the customer service email at the bottom of today's episode.
Mr. X:
I have written several e books but I don't have any money to get the formating software to turn the doument into a pdf file. Do you of any free software that allows you to do that. Also give me some advice on what you would do.
Gerald W.
Mr. X: Thanks for the question, Gerald. Usually you can go to http://www.download.com and simply search for ".pdf creation software."
There's a ton of it out there, and you can usually get a 30 day free trial. It's actually pretty cheap... I use one called "Make PDF" and I believe I paid $20 or $30 for it after the trial was over.
Mr. X-
You give out a website and I wait for some business. No business has come in. How do you change this?
Kurt R.
Mr. X: Uh, I don't know, maybe you should quit waiting, get off your duff and market the thing? If you don't know how to do that, then educate yourself on marketing--I highly recommend Dan Kennedy's Information Marketing Seminar... see http://www.michaelkimble.com/infoseminar
Mr. X--
How do i find a good marketing list to sell to?
I know i do not want to spam anyone, so how do you find people thay may be intrerested in what you are selling?
Clinton B.
Mr. X: Thanks for the great question, Clinton. The first thing you should do is go the library and look up the SRDS (Standard Rate and Data Service). It's a monthly directory with all the mailing lists in the country, and you can find plenty of people to sell to there.
Also, you should look for business owners who have lists that might be interested in the product you have to sell, then propose a joint venture to them. Nothing beats mailing or emailing to a list with an endorsement from the list owner.
Thanks for the questions, guys!
Let's get to it...
