Don't just "take action," take FAST action

Well, despite a valiant effort on defense, the Dallas Cowboys took a strategic loss to the pretender Eagles. That's OK, though... it's just another step in re-building America's team, and returning them to their rightful status at the top of the league. The Eagles will be exposed in playoffs (as are all finesse, pass-happy teams, see the 1998 Minnesota Vikings), and their fans will be left as they always are, heartbroken by the little team that couldn't.
Besides a football game, there was also a business event that happened this weekend, one few people noticed. On Saturday morning, I checked the broadcast history on two of my Aweber accounts (Aweber is a broadcast email and autoresponder service), and noticed that about 10% of my emails didn't go through.
This was not good--all of a sudden I'd lost communication with 10% of our list, meaning a potential serious loss of revenue. Action had to be taken--fast action. Now, I could have waited until Monday to do something, but when something like this happens, you can't wait around.
After searching a bit, I discovered almost all the emails were AOL emails, meaning AOL had put a temporary block on Aweber. I called AOL, and they assured me it wasn't me. So, the problem had to be with Aweber--but was it me, or an "Across the board" issue? I called a friend of mine who also used Aweber, and sure enough she had the same issue. I check another list, and sure enough the same thing had happened. So, now the problem was narrowed down to a specific issue with Aweber.
Unfortunately, they weren't working on the weekend, so I had to grit my teeth until 9:01 AM EST this morning to talk to them on the phone. They looked into it, and as of about 30 minutes ago had taken care of the problem.
The lesson here is, if you want to "get something done" you not only need to take action, you need to take fast, immediate and multiple actions. You also have to follow it through until it's finished, something most people don't do. This applies as much to making money as it does to solving a business problem.
If you're not as successful as you want to be, you need to review your "Action taking." If it's not fast, immediate, and multiple, then you have the reason why you're not yet where you want to be.
