So you think you have problems?

Do you know a major difference between successful people and those who never make it? I'll tell you--those who never make it have excuses, those who do have answers. Successful people find ways to work around, even utilize, what others would call a "handicap," while those who never make it continually use their excuses as reasons why.
Here's what I hear a lot of:
I'm broke, therefore I can't make any money.
The IRS robbed me blind, therefore I can't make any money.
I'm in ill health--I have diabetes, cancer, leprosy, the black plague, etc., etc. and therefore I can't make any money.
You want to know something funny? I know successful people who have experienced the above afflictions (and more), yet they still find ways to succeed. Why? Because the question they always ask themselves is, "How can I...?" instead of telling themselves, "I can't because...."
Consider these afflictions:
Dyslexia, leading to extreme difficulty reading and writing.
Age--most people who have accomplished something great have done so at a younger age than you.
Extreme self doubt
A shrill, high pitched voice in an arena where your speaking ability dictates your success.
An abrasive personality, and dislike, even ridicule, of you and your ideas.
Have any idea who I might be talking about here? Some of you on this list might know, and a few of you might even have seen this individual in person, many years ago. The man I am referring to is General George S. Patton, commander of the Third Army in Europe, during the second World War, and one of the most successful generals in US history, indeed a man who pioneered much of the "hold 'em by the nose and kick 'em in the ass" doctrine practiced by the US military today (after a disastrous departure from it).
How do I know this about Patton? One, because I have read a significant amount about him, but two, my grandfather was "with Patton" in the Second World War, commanding the 51st Armored Battalion, as part of the 4th Armored Division, also known as the "Bastogne Bastards" for their role in relieving the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.
I had the opportunity to spend time with men who were "with Patton," and every single one of them expressed their admiration for him, despite all the above flaws, flaws that, by any measure, should have relegated him to a non-participant. Yet, because he continually asked himself, "How can I?" (as well as intently studying his craft), he went on to become a towering figure in American history.
If he was able to do that with the "flaws" he had, you should at least be able to make a little money with the "flaws" you have.

Let's get to it...
